Redemption Spree

Happy Friday everyone!! To console my sorrows of last week's disappointing dress that I ordered, I decided to go to the mall to return the dress and make up for its sadness with some retail therapy. Which I highly recommend for anyone who is down in the dumps.

The hubs had a prior engagement that night and my parents were on a plane back from a trip so I ventured out by myself. The mall in my town is where dreams go to die. I swear I lose three years of my life every time I go there. But it had to be done and there are a few stores that kind of make up for it's life-sucking capabilities. And here's what I have to show for it.

American Eagle Jeggings: $30

I generally wear dark wash jeans because they can look dressier and they go with most of my wardrobe, but nothing infuriates me more than when my dark wash jeans begin to fade, especially in the knees. So I figured it was time to try something a little different. Jeggings kind of freak me out for the most part. Every time I've tried them on, it has been a mildly traumatic experience. Mainly because I have to literally peel them off my skin whilst thrashing about which is always somewhat stressful while in a tiny changing room. However, I tried on these medium-wash jeggings at American Eagle because they were on sale and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. They are not pure spandex dyed to look like jeans and they are not too tight either. I tried on the same jegging in a dark wash as well but for some reason, those were infinitely more difficult to get on and off and felt way more spandex-y which I'm not a huge fan of. Hence I stuck with these. Being 5'9", I was also happy to discover that they were plenty long as well.

Old Navy sweater: $30

Sometimes I forget that Old Navy has super cute things and great sales. So I was happy when I came across this sweater that had a reduced price. AND SEQUIN ELBOW PADS. Can we talk about that for a second? I love a little sparkle in anything and the sequins really make this sweater jazzier than your average cardigan. Slash my average cardigan. Of which I have like 20. I like that it's a bit longer and it has POCKETS too! I love pockets. And sequins. And pink. And good prices. So this purchase was a happy moment. If I feel like putting on real clothes later today (which is questionable) I'll try and upload a pic of me in the sweater and jeans together on my instagram (follow me at annieellisstoker). I always get a fair amount of joy when I buy things in the same shopping spree that I can wear together. So I deemed these redemption purposes a success.

I'm currently eyeing some gold flats with ankle straps and an Etsy necklace...We will see if those find a way into my closet in the coming weeks. Stay tuned and have a wonderful weekend!
