Valentine's Day Gifts

Husband can be tricky to shop for. His birthday & Christmas gifts were successful (iPad mini and drafting table, respectively) but now with Valentine's Day being this month, I'm at a bit of a loss. I don't even think I got him anything last year. Granted, we were living 2,000 miles away from each other so my "gift" was that I flew home for the weekend to do some wedding planning and we went out for a nice dinner, but that was about it. This year, however, I'm determined to do better and get him something that he will love. I will probably not spend more than $50, but for some people, Valentine's Day gifts are a big deal. So I've compiled a list of ideas for both guys and girls at a variety of prices. You're welcome.

Leather iPhone Case: I love leather. I think it is beautiful and oh-so-classy. This case is sure to instantly make your man's phone more sophisticated.

Collar Stain Soap: If your man wears white shirts to work, then chances are he gets stains around the collar and such. This nifty soap will help to remove stains.

Vintage Baseball Tee: Kind of hipster and unique, it's perfect for your sports-loving man.

Vintage Army Watch: Reasonably priced but still expensive-looking. And awesome.

Customized Roadmap: Husband & I have been all over the country together and I love the idea of being able to visually document where we've been, and what places are left to explore.

Noise-Cancelling Headphones: If you feel like splurging a bit, I highly suggest you invest in these amazing headphones. Husband originally bought them for work so he wouldn't get distracted by the loud people in the office, but he uses them for travel too. They work amazingly well and I'm sure your man will use them forever.

J.Crew Wool Tie: Perfect for colder weather and looks smashing with printed shirts and sweaters.

Heart Socks: Because a heart printed shirt would probably be a bit excessive.

Herschel Duffel Bag: I discovered this awesome bag when I was searching for the perfect backpack and realized Husband & I could match (see below) and now you guys can too! How cute.

Kiehls Face Cream: Even your man's face should be soft and supple.

Bleu de Chanel: Who doesn't love a scrumptious smelling man? Husband wears this and I'm pretty sure it's at least 80% of why I fell in love with him. Just kidding. But I do love how it smells.

Polka Dot Pocket Square: I love pocket squares. I wish they were a girls accessory too.

Wooden Postcard: Engrave any sappy sentiment you please for your man to treasure forever.

Pink Tee: Soft, well-fitted, and pink! Perfect for Valentine's Day.

Slight confession, some of these items are really just things that I want for Valentine's Day (or any other day), but I still think they'd make great gifts for other girls too :) Husband has asked me numerous times for some ideas, so here you go, boo.

Herschel Backpack: So I can match Husband!! I think the gray color will stay cleaner than some of the other colors I looked at and it's very versatile.

Polka Dot Pajamas: Pink polka dots = festive and adorable.

Kate Spade MRS Necklace: I want this so much. It comes in silver too! Perfect for your wifey. (Husband, like me, for instance. In gold).

Aveda Hand Relief: One of the best lotions out there. Smells oh-so-good and is guaranteed to keep your girl's hands soft and hold-able.

Bar-Stripe Tee: I love gold and I think this tee is super cute. Comes in silver and black too. Ok my bad, I compiled my gift ideas a few weeks ago and consequently, this shirt is no longer in stock in all the colors it originally came in. SORRY EVERYONE. But good news, it comes in pink now! And something called "smoke" (probably not as Vday appropriate as pink but hey whatever makes you happy.

You Are My Sunshine Pillow: The lyrics to this song are too perfect and the pillow is so so cute. A great reminder for your girl of how much you love her that she can display on her couch.

Essie Nail Polish: Perfectly pink and Valentine's Day appropriate.

Tiffany & Co. Ring: If you feel like spoiling your woman, this ring is perfect. My parents gave me one after I graduated high school and I wear it every day. It's a great way for me to have bling on my right hand too :) Also comes in a version that says "I Love You" instead of "Tiffany & Co."

Heart Luggage Tag: How cute would this look on the gray backpack?? Or any other piece of luggage, for that matter. Also comes in red.

Ugg Loafer: I have a pair of these and the are by far the comfiest shoe I own. Fur lined and super warm. They go perfectly with jeans and a tee.

Anthropologie Pie Plate: I received a collection of these baking pieces when I got married and they are just beautiful. Anthropologie can do no wrong.

Fan Fringe Necklace: Fun, colorful, and only $10. I've been eyeing this for a while now.

Coach Glitter Pouch: So I'm convinced that if I had this, I would not lose track of my checkbooks as easily as I do now. AND IT'S ON SALE!! (Husband, 1. I hope you're reading this 2. I even have posted the direct link here 3. I want gold 4. You da best).

Cashmere Waffle Scarf: I love this color and it looks like the perfect scarf to keep you warm before spring.

What are you hoping for this Valentine's Day?

Hoping That: Purdue cancels classes Tuesday and/or Wednesday because of the (second) impending snow storm.
Wishing That: I went to college in Florida. Or California. Or Hawaii.
Watching: "Crazy, Stupid Love". Again.
Random Fact About Me: I'm a closet science geek and read science-related books/listen to science podcasts all the time. Please note that this does not mean that I'm good at it. I just find it fascinating.
Days Until Christmas: 324

    1. You're right! Yeah I saw the duffle when I was searching for a backpack and really wanted it for myself but I really don't need one haha.

I agree! We found it online on some semi-questionable website...we like to live dangerously.
